The Endolorosa Club

A club nobody asked to join.

Endolorosa, a cartoon endometriosis cell and mascot of the Endolorosa Club

A growing collection of short Endolorosa stories, animations, printable sheets, and survival notes about the strange, frustrating, sometimes absurd reality of living with endometriosis.

This initially started as material for a sarcastic tiny manual on navigating endometriosis. Maybe one day these pieces will become the tiny guide/book.

What it's really like to live with endometriosis

Endolorosa likes to spread out - but mostly on the surface. If you're after the deeper facts, this is where to start:

Hi, it's me, Endolorosa.

Endolorosa is a personified rogue endometriosis cell: part mascot, part troublemaker, part instigator of the absurd things humans with endometriosis have to endure. She is not here to politely explain the disease from a textbook. She accompanies you through the misunderstandings, bad advice, medical detours, coping strategies, and tiny moments of relief that come with living with endo.

Etymology

Endolorosa (proper noun; coined)
A playful hybrid term combining endo-, from Ancient Greek ἔνδον / endon meaning within or inside, and Latin dolor, meaning pain or grief, with the Romance feminine ending -osa. The name evokes the pain within: a poetic descriptor for internal, often unseen pain, especially in the context of endometriosis.
